Registrations now open for Invercargill Conference

Registrations now open for Invercargill Conference

Update 17th March: The NZ IPPS Committee and the Conference organising committee in Invercargill have been monitoring the situation regarding the Covid-19 virus and the affect it may have on our upcoming conference. Unfortunately we have decided to cancel the conference for a number of reasons.

We will fully refund conference registration fees paid (you will be contacted individually). We realise that many of you have already booked travel and accommodation, and some of this may not be refundable. You may like to consider keeping your flight and accommodation to Invercargill to support the local economy.

We will let you know when we plan to have the AGM in due course.

For any questions at this stage please contact Antony Toledo antony@multiflora.co.nz or Richard Beaumont richard@ardmorenurseries.co.nz

‘Wild South’ is the theme for this year’s IPPS conference which is being held at the Ascot Park Hotel from Thursday 16th – Sunday 19th April 2020.

The conference kicks off with Happy Hour, a BBQ meal and local speaker on the Thursday night before the conference is officially opened on Friday morning by a local VIP. There will be presentations on Auckland Islands biodiversity, plant breeding technologies and cultivated plants before the afternoon field trip takes in Diacks Nursery, Easy Big Trees & Triflor Tulip Farm. The evening will be the formal dinner with auction, awards and entertainment.
Further presentations on the Saturday morning will include Native Alpine plants and Plant Variety Rights with the afternoon field trip visiting Hayes Wholesale Nursery & TNZ Growing Products. The dress code is camouflage for the evening dinner which is being held at a mystery location.
Sunday morning will see further presentations with lunch bringing the conference to a close.
A three day pre tour will visit the Catlin’s, Gore, Tapanui and Invercargill surrounds while a three day post tour will visit Stewart Island.
