Registrations now open for Whanganui field trip
Saturday 3rd December
8am Depart from Distinction Hotel Coachman, 140 Fitzherbert Avenue, Palmerston North for those who have flown in and stayed the night in Palmerston North.
9am Pick up from The Avenue Hotel, 379 Victoria Ave, Whanganui.
9.15 - 10.15am Springvale Garden Centre. Well-known garden centre run by the Carter family. A small propagation facility and nursery provide plants to the garden centre. Buy your own morning tea if required from the cafe.
10.30 - 11.45am Bason Botanic Gardens. A well-known public garden with a variety of features.
12 noon - 1.30pm New Zealand Delphiniums (formerly Dowdeswells Delphniums) Specialist producer and hybridiser of delphniums. Lunch will be here.
2pm - 3.30pm Bushy Park Sanctuary. An ecological island of lowland forest surrounded by a predator-proof fence.
4pm Arrive back to Avenue Hotel.

Sunday 4th December
8.30am Depart The Avenue Hotel.
8.45 - 9.30 am To be confirmed
9.45 - 11.45am - Paloma Gardens. Clive and Nicki Higgies amazing garden, a real plants person paradise.
12 noon - 2pm - Matthews Nurseries. Specialist rose grower and hybridiser of roses. Celebrating 75 years of growing roses in 2022. Lunch will be here.
2pm Depart to The Avenue Hotel, Whanganui and Palmerston North Airport. Book flights to depart 3.45pm onwards.
Registration Fee: $125 - covers transport, 2 lunches, snacks and admission to Paloma Gardens. It does not include dinner on Saturday night (own cost)

Getting to Whanganui
You can drive, or fly into Whanganui with Air Chathams ex Auckland.
Alternatively, there will be transport to and from Palmerston North if you wish to fly in there.
Book flights to arrive anytime on Friday 1st December and depart after 3.45 pm on Sunday 4th December.
